Agreement between the University College Cardinal Cisneros, the López Ibor Clinic and the Juan José López-Ibor Foundation

A collaboration agreement between these three entities was signed in October 2014. The University College “Cardenal Cisneros” is a privately run center for higher education attached to the Complutense University of Madrid, the center teaches a Master Course in General Health Psychology. The goal of this agreement is to promote cooperation and collaboration in the development of a program for external graduate training for college students to allow them to apply and complement the knowledge acquired in their academic education. Already several students have benefited from this agreement and have carried out their practices at our center.

Cooperation Agreement with the José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón Foundation

This cooperation agreement aims to launch research, teaching and dissemination projects in the areas of social sciences, humanities and medicine. Part of these activities will be focused on fighting discrimination and stigma against people with mental illness and to promote a true knowledge of these. Also research and teaching projects will be developed in the fields of psychiatry, mental health, neuroscience, philosophy, law, history or sociology. As a first result of this collaboration Prof. López-Ibor held a conference on December, 17th 2013 on “Schizophrenia and Romanticism” and throughout the year 2014 a series of lectures were conducted under the title: ” New Wines in New Bottles: The necessary Transformation of Research on Mental Disorders”.

Agreement with the Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Signed on March 7, 2012 between the Rector of the Complutense University of Madrid, Mr. José Méndez Carrillo and Prof. Juan José López Ibor.
The purpose of the agreement is the mutual cooperation in the field of research, teaching and the dissemination and presentation of care services related to the world of health specifically in the field of neuroscience.

In particular:
• Clinical research in the field of neuroscience.
• Innovation and development of health technologies for the National Health System.
• Networking for cooperation in technological research.
• Actions to generate knowledge in the field of new therapies to preserve the health and welfare of citizens.
• Training, accreditation and certification of new technologies, processes and protocols.

Agreement with the Complutense and Polytechnic Universities of Madrid

The Universidad Complutense and the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid have boosted training and research initiatives under the auspices of the Moncloa Campus of International Excellence “Campus de Moncloa: The energy of Diversity”, by signing a collaboration agreement with the Juan José López-Ibor Foundation, October 18th, 2012.

The collaboration agreement between these three institutions aims to cover research fields, cooperation for mutual advice or third parties, specialized training and the interchange and cooperation in the field of psychiatry and neuroscience. The creation of a mixed institute has been also approved.

Agreement with the Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN)

A framework agreement to enhance neuroscience was signed November, 2012. Both entities have committed to promote the exchange of knowledge and medical and scientific practices among neurologists, psychiatrists and medical professionals and to promote and disseminate research, study and teaching in the field of neuroscience.

López Ibor Chair on Mystic and Mental Health

The idea of the López Ibor Chair on Mystic and Mental Health appeared at the end of the year 2008 and was formally established in the summer of 2009 following the growing interest in mysticism in relation to psychopathology in general, in order to help to understand human beings and their worries and thus better comprehend the concerns of people with mental illnesses through the study of mystical phenomena.

The Chair was established as an autonomous entity, without legal personality, capable of action and public recognition. It has its registered office in the Universidad de la Mística-Cites of Ávila and operates under the sponsorship and permanent guardianship of the Juan José López-Ibor Foundation. Its goal is to carry out scientific activities in the fields of medicine, mental health, religious experience and spirituality.
