History of the Foundation

The Juan José López-Ibor Foundation was constituted  in 2005, with the objective of to fight against the stigma of the Mental Illness by promoting the investigation, the formation in the field of psychiatry, psychology, neuroscience in particular,  and the rest of the medicine and sciences of the health in general.

It is a Foundation of international founded by the Professor Juan José López-Ibor Aliño. One of his first activities was to organize an International Congress  in collaboration with the World Psychiatry Association to commemorate the Centenary of the birth of his father, Professor López Ibor, since the Foundation has organized numerous congresses, seminaries, Scientific Meetings for psychiatrist and mental health professionals, as well as,  psychoeducation activities for general public.

In order to develop and implement all these activities, the Foundation has a Board of Trustees and an Advisory Board with people of recognize prestigious that has shown interest in the field of mental health and neuroscience.

Also, the Juan Jose Lopez-Ibor Foundation collaborates with Institutions such as the Mundial Association of Psychiatry, the Ortega Marañón Foundation, the XXI Century Foundation, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid among others…
